EMPOWERING THE ART ECOSYSTEM TO BE A POSITIVE SOCIAL CHANGE FACILITATOR

The Verbier Art Summit membership platform comes together – by invitation only – every winter in Verbier, Switzerland, for two weeks of innovation. The annual programme is organised in partnership with an acclaimed museum director around urgent themes at the intersection of art and society. Together, we envision and realise new futures, enabling today’s most important voices to take action.

Membership comes with an annual donation and includes access to the extended debating programme at the in-person Summit with networking lunches and dinners, the virtual Summit, a curator-led tour at the (annually rotating) partnering museum, and a gifted copy of the annual book publication.

In view of the recent developments in Switzerland and Europe, the in-person Summit will not take place in January 2022, and Members are invited to join the speakers and our partnering museum directors for an exclusive virtual opening of the Summit on 28 January 2022. The virtual Summit will also provide debating opportunities on 11 & 12 February. Updates on the next Summit and Resource Hungry theme can be found here.

COMMUNITY

At the beginning of each year, Members connect physically at the in-person Summit in Verbier and/or participate in the virtual Summit that follows two weeks later.

By transforming the annual Summit into a hybrid event and broadcasting the programme through a free virtual platform, the Members share the Summit knowledge globally, building an international movement to drive social change through art.

TALKS & DEBATES

Leading artists, museum directors, academics and thought leaders come from around the world to present 20-minute talks at the annual Summit.

Moderated debates held in private chalets are open to intimate groups of 25 Members and speakers only, generating new visions and initiatives with each Summit edition.

BEYOND 2022

The Summit aims to further engage local communities by organising a series of ‘Micro-Summits’ at museums all over the world from 2023 onwards.

By building local action around the annually changing Summit theme, the Members will accelerate the innovation, education and inspiration processes at a global level.

What is it all really about? What should we be aiming for, while moving away from this excess?
